Glass, display or both?

A tablet screen has two layers: the glass that reads your touch, and the display underneath that shows the picture. If only the glass is cracked and the picture is perfect, the glass alone can often be replaced. If you see lines, black patches or bleeding colour, the display needs replacing too.

On many newer tablets the two layers are fused together, so they are replaced as one part. Our model list shows which repair applies.

Tablet batteries and charging

A tablet that only works while plugged in, or drops from 50% to nothing, usually needs a new battery. If it won't charge at all, check the cable first, then bring it in: the charging port may be worn, full of lint or damaged. We test both so you only pay for the tablet repair it really needs.

How long do tablet & iPad repairs take?

Batteries and charging ports can often be done while you wait. Screens on tablets with bonded glass take longer, because the adhesive needs time to set properly. We tell you the timing before we start. Book a time or message us first so your part is ready.

Tablets for children and school

Many of the tablets we repair belong to children. A cracked screen is worth fixing quickly, because broken glass can cut small fingers and lets dust into the display. After the repair, a rugged case and a screen protector make the next drop much less likely to end in another tablet repair.

Tablets that won't turn on

A tablet that shows nothing at all isn't always broken beyond repair. Often the battery has run completely flat, or the charging port no longer makes contact, so the tablet can't wake up. Leave it on charge for an hour with a known good cable first. If it still shows nothing, bring it in and we will test the battery, the port and the screen to find the real cause before quoting.
